We've lived on Begert Ranch all our lives, and haven't seen everything yet. We're confident that if you come for a visit, there will be things to keep you occupied for as long as you care to stay. This part of the Texas Panhandle is almost too beautiful for words...There's a world of things to do--choose as many or as few as you like!

Prairie Chicken viewing begins in early March! Come see these wonderful birds display on the wild expanses of the High Plains!

We have a fully remodeled lodge that is a perfect getaway for anyone seeking a break from the fast pace of life that seems to follow us wherever we go. In addition to lip-smacking meals, the lodge is fully furnished with a washer/dryer so that you can find the solitude you're looking for without having to drive into town to replenish necessities.

We provide stables for folks who want to trailer in their own horses, and we're confident that the ranch's 10,000 acres will give you plenty of room to roam, and plenty of things to discover.

If sitting on the porch and taking in spectacular sunsets appeals to you, we think you'll like our porch real, real well. The lodge sits atop a hill and provides a commanding view of the country for miles around.

Nowadays, more than 77 million Americans participate in non-consumptive wildlifewatching activities. If you're one, you'll find wildlife spectacles and photographic opportunities here at the ranch to be absolutely unparalleled. Our booming grounds fill with Lesser Prairie-Chickens in spring, and most mornings if you're up early you can flush them as they leave their roosting grounds to go out and forage.

Other endangered birds include Least Terns--they regularly fish in our sloughs, and although we've not confirmed it, we suspect they nest along the nearby Canadian River.

From late spring through summer the ranch is carpeted with wildflowers, and as the weather turns cooler our cottonwoods, hackberries, locusts, and shiny sumac explode into brilliant colors.
